Lack of Telangana logo creates confusion
Logo of Telangana will be taken by new government which will take charge on June 2
Hyderabad: While the Telangana name boards will be set up for Secretariat, Legislative Assembly, Legislative Council, offices of heads of departments and other state government offices in Hyderabad by May 25, lack of a “Telangana official logo” has left the officials confused. Normally, the government name boards display the official logo of the respective state. However, a decision on the official logo of Telangana will be taken by the new government which will take charge after June 2, the Appointed Day for formation of the Telangana state.
Officials feel that the name boards will have to be modified again to incorporate the official logo of the Telangana state. The official logo or emblem highlights the historical and cultural significance of a particular state and a decision in this regard will be largely political and may differ from party to party. If the TRS comes to power, it may consider incorporating Charminar or Telangana Talli on the logo while the Congress may also consider the Charminar, or maybe Rani Rudrama.
At present, the Andhra Pradesh logo comprises the Sun radiant charged with a treasure vase, placed within an ornamented circular frame. In the base, there is the crest of the Republic of India and Government of Andhra Pradesh written in Hindi and Telugu. The base also carries “Satyameva Jayate” in Devanagiri script. The new name boards for Telangana will be displayed at the newly-created entrance of the Telangana Secretariat towards the NTR Gardens while the existing main entrance will be utilised for the AP Secretariat.
The name boards will be set up for Telangana and AP blocks at the Chief Minister’s Office, ministers and official blocks. New identity cards will also be issued for the Telangana and Seemandhra employees by May 25 and they will start functioning as employees of the respective states from May 25 itself. Their attendance will be registered state-wise from then on. The employees will also receive their salaries for this month by May 25. Interestingly, the salary for June 1 will also be incl-uded in the May salary, before the state is officially bifurcated on June 2.
On Thursday, renovation of the H-block in Secretariat, which has been allotted for the CM and CS of AP, was started to make it ready by June 2. Some chambers have been demolished to make spacious rooms for the CM and CS’ office besides creating a meeting hall to hold Cabinet meetings of the AP government.
