War between Gandhi family and Narendra Modi continues
Lucknow: Congress president Sonia Gandhi, on Thursday, lashed out at BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi for insulting eh martyrdom of her husband and former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi. Addressing a rally in Kushinagar, Mrs Gandhi said, “To fulfill his political ambitions, Mr Modi has insulted the martyrdom of Rajiv ji. There have been several prime ministers in India including BJP’s Atal Bihari Vajpayee but he always respected the dignity of his chair. Agar isse neech rajnitik sooch nahin kahen to kya kahen? (If this is not called low-level political thinking then what should it be called)”
Mrs Gandhi said that a person who dreams of becoming the PM must know and understand its rich culture, ethos and kindness. Such low-level politics and thinking suits neither the BJP and nor Mr Modi, she said. The Congress president said that the Indian society is pluralistic and leading this country is not a simple task. Good governance is based on ethics, devotion and commitment and this is based on brotherhood and kindness. Meanwhile, the district administration said that it has taken note of Mrs Gandhi’s remarks accusing Mr Modi of having “neech soch”. The administration would be sending the CD of Mrs Gandhi’s speech to the EC.
