It’s an in your face kind of negative role: Jimmy Shergill on his ‘Fugly' character
Jimmy Shergill will be playing a negative role in Akshay Kumar's 'Fugly'
Mumbai: After playing a grey role in ‘Tanu Weds Manu’, actor Jimmy Shergill will now be seen playing an out-an-out negative role in Akshay Kumar’s home production film ‘Fugly’.
“When I heard the narration, I could sense that the story was inspired from real life. It’s an in your face kind of negative role. Kabir Sadanand said to me that he had written the part especially for me, as he felt that if I played it, I would give a different shade of villainy to it,” Jimmy said in a statement.
After ‘Special 26?, Jimmy is again teaming withco-star Akshay for the production venture as they share a great rapport. “It was great to reconnect with Akshay,” Jimmy said.
‘Fugly’ is a story of four friends Dev, Devi, Gaurav and Aditya and how this carefree bunch, at the threshold of their lives, get caught in an incident, which sucks them slowly into the big bad world of corruption and politics in the capital.
The film will be a launch pad for Mohit Marwah, Olympic medalist boxer Vijender Singh, Kiara Advani and Arfi Lamba, the freshest faces to join the film fraternity.
The youth comedy drama film releases on June 13.
