Mumbai:  Actor Ranbir Kapoor was instrumental in bringing his cousin Armaan Jain on board for Saif Ali Khan's home production 'Lekar  Hum Deewana Dil'. Armaan, grandson of legendary actor late Raj Kapoor, is all set to make his Bollywood debut with the Saif's film.

After completing the film's script, director Arif Ali was looking for a lead actor and he was suggested that Armaan could fill in the shoes of the character, sources said here. Arif, who is the younger brother of ace director Imtiaz Ali, then spoke to Ranbir Kapoor (Armaan is Ranbir's first cousin) about the film.

Ranbir was in total agreement about the character being closely like Armaan, and he passed on Armaan's details to Arif, sources added.

'Lekar Hum Deewana Dil' is about making mistakes and growing up. It reflects the 'act first, think later' sentiment of today's youth and how relationships fail over unrealistic expectations.

The movie by Eros International & Illuminati Films is scheduled to release on July 4.
