Hyderabad: Though the bifurcation of the state will come into force from June 2, the Secretariates, the administrative headquarters of both the states, will start functioning independently from May 26. It will be like a “trial run” to see how the administrations of both the states function from different blocks of the existing Secretariate premises a week before the actual division.

Barring the chief ministers and council of ministers of respective states, everything will be in place by May 25, and the Secretariates will start functioning independently from May 26.
New identity cards will be issued to all the employees of Telangana and AP states and separate attendance registers will be maintained for them from May 26.

While the AP Secretariate will house 53 IAS officers, 98 joint/deputy secretaries and 114 assistant secretaries, the Telangana Secretariate will house 49 IAS officers, 81 joint/deputy secretaries and 106 assistant secretaries.

The Telangana Secretariate will function from blocks A, B, C and D; and AP Secretariate from J, K, L, H-North and H-South. The chambers of all the 18 Telangana ministers will be accommodated in D block.
The chambers of the 25 AP ministers will function from blocks J, K, L and H-South.

While the Telangana CM will work out of the existing CMO in C block, the AP CM will work from H-North block. The name boards of all ministers and officials will be set up by May 25.
