Japan:  Buffalo, a well-known manufacturer of computer peripheral products, has launched the RUF3-PS series flash USB drives in Japan. The USB pen drives are miniature in size as compared to that of the regular USB drive. It is so tiny, that once inserted in the port, hardly 5.2mm of the USB drive is seen protruding from the USB port.

Being a miniature size, it is highly portable, and weighs about 2.2 gm. It can easily be carried in pockets, wallets or even lipstick cases (for women).  And considering the space constraints, this sub storage device is very convenient for use and mobility.

All laptops come with multiple USB ports. However, most of them are so closely located to each other, that it becomes a task to use all of them simultaneously. Plugging in two USB devices, such as USB pen drives, USB 3G dongles or additional Wi-Fi dongles together becomes a pain because of the different package sizes they come in and two together could nudge each other. The micro USB storage can come in handy in such situations.

RUF3-PS series is available in 8GB, 16GB, 32GB and 64GB, with a 5Gbps transfer speed. Presently, the USB storage is only available in Japan for around 5378 yen (approximately Rs 3,300). There is no official information of the same launching in India. We hope to hear from them soon.
