Hyderabad: Former Allagada MLA Shobha Nagi Reddy’s 14- year - old son, B. Jagat Vikhyat Reddy escaped unhurt in a car fire accident on Wednesday. Fire erupted from the engine of the Nissan XTrail SUV in which he was travelling, along with four friends and his driver, in Begumpet on Wednesday afternoon.

Fortunately, all of them escaped unhurt. Fire brigade arrived on the spot and put out the fire. No case has been booked. Vikhyat’s mother and former Allagadda MLA, B.  Shobha Nagi Reddy recently died in a car accident.

According to the police, Vikhyat and his friends were travelling in the car from their residence in Banjara Hills to the Rajiv Gandhi International stadium in Uppal for the cricket match being played on Wednesday.

The fire suddenly erupted from the engine of the vehicle on S.P. Road in Begumpet and the driver immediately pulled to a side. Jagat Vikhyat Reddy and his friends got out of the car immediately and left the place. The fire was put out by the fire brigade.

The exact cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, but it is expected to be due to an electrical short circuit.
