Mumbai: It appears to be a complete debacle of the Congress-NCP alliance, which has ruled Maharshtra for last 15 years. As per the latest trends, Ashok Chavan in Nanded was the only Congress candidate leading in the election. Its alliance partner NCP was doing slightly better by leading in three seats. Several high profile leaders including Supriya Sule, daughter of Sharad Pawar, were trailing.
However, Ms Sule’s deficit was mere 6,782 votes and she may overturn the deficit as the counting progresses. Howebver, nonetheless it was a setback for the NCP as Baramati has been the fortress of the Pawar family. Ms Sule had won in 2009 by margin of over 3.36 lakh votes.
On the other hand, Shiv Sena, BJP and their other allies have been doing exceedingly well. AAP and MNS do not seem to be even opining their accounts.
According to the latest update, BJP was leading on 23 seats and Shiv Sena on 18 seats while Swabhimani Paksha and Rashtriya Samaj Paksha both were also leading on two and one seats respectively. The NDA was leading on 44 out of 48 seats in Maharashtra.
The Congress had won seven seats in this region in 2009. Former BJP president Nitin Gadkari was leading with 24443 votes in Nagpur against Vilas Muttemwar of the congress.
BJP'S Nana Patole was leading by 3874 votes against Praful Patel of the NCP from Bhandara-Gondiya seat. Shiv sena's Krupal tumane is leading with 5889 votes against another congress heavyweight Mukul Wasnik from Ramtek seat.
BJP's Ramdas Tadas was also ahead with 4224 votes against Sagar Meghe of the congress from Wardha constituency.
Similarly, Shiv Sena's Anand Adsul was leading with 57735 votes against Navneet Rana of the NCP from Amravati constituency. Shiv Sena's Pratap Jadhav was ahead by 42450 votes against NCP's Krushnarao Ingle from Buldhana constituency. BJPsS Sanjay Dhotre was leading by 10441 votes against Hidayatullah Patel of the Congress from Akola constituency.
BJP's another candidate Ashok Nete was leading by 20736 votes against Dr Namdeo Usendi of Congress from Gadchiroli-Chimur constituency.
Hansraj Ahir (BJP) was ahead by 9823 votes against Sanjay Deotale from Chandrapur constituency. And last but not the least Bhawana Gawli of the Shiv Sena was leading by 8327 votes against Congress heavyweight Shivajirao Moghe from Yavatmal-Washim constituency.
