Will develop Seemandhra as golden Andhra Pradesh: Murli Mohan
Murli Mohan, newly-elected MP from TDP said the will now focus on Assembly seats
Rajahmundry: Actor-turned-politician and newly-elected MP from TDP, Maganti Murali Mohan on Saturday said his party would strive hard to develop Seemandhra as "swarna (golden) Andhra Pradesh".
"TDP will develop residual Andhra Pradesh by building infrastructural facilities, and will also develop Telangana to fulfil aspirations of people of that state," Murli Mohan said after getting his Member of Parliament certificate from election officials.
He defeated his nearest rival B A Choudary of YSRCP by a margin of 1,67,697 votes.
Murli Mohan further said he would also strive to develop all the seven Assembly seats in his constituency that falls in East Godavari district.
"TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu has a clear vision on development of residuary Andhra Pradesh and will take all necessary steps to develop Seemandhra. We will develop new capital more than Hyderabad," he said, adding that TDP will implement all promises that the party has given in its manifesto.
Murli Mohan said the TDP leadership would take a call on the location of the swearing-in ceremony of new government "even as people want the function to be held in Seemandhra region".
Murli Mohan has acted in more than 300 films and had unsuccessfully contested 2009 general elections, but lost to his Congress rival.
