Dalai Lama writes to Narendra Modi, congratulates him for stunning victory
‘Under his leadership, India would continue to flourish and prosper’
Dharamsala: Tibetan spiritual leader Dalai Lama, on Saturday, congratulated prime minister elect Narendra Modi for BJP's decisive victory in the general elections.
In a letter to Modi, the spiritual leader stated that India is the world's largest democratic nation and the most stable in South Asia with a deep tradition of 'ahimsa' (non-violence).
Dalai Lama said that he took pride in citing India as a living example of unity in diversity, an ancient country in which the entire world's religious traditions flourish and from which other countries could learn a lesson.
The office of Tibetan spiritual leader here said that Dalai lama expressed that just as he (Modi) had brought development and prosperity to Gujarat, he prayed that under his leadership, India would continue to flourish and prosper.
The Nobel laureate wished him every success in meeting the many challenges that lay ahead and in fulfilling the hopes and aspirations of the people of this great nation.
