Parliament to see many debutants in Telangana and Seemandhra
As many as 147 of the 294 legislators in the two states are new entrants
Hyderabad: This election might have set a record of sorts regarding the number of debutants to the Legislative Assemblies of the two new states.
As many as 147 of the 294 legislators in the two states are new entrants.
In Telangana, 54 out of the 119 legislators are first-time MLAs, while in Andhra, 93 of the 175 legislators are debutants.
Also half of the 42 Parliamentarians taking oath this time are first timers, 10 in Telangana and 11 in Andhra.
Majority of the new entrants are from the TRS while BJP and Telugu Desam also contributed a few. Nine of the 10 Telangana Parliament debutants are from the TRS while one is from the YSRC.
Meanwhile, Nalgonda and Ranga Reddy sent the most debutants to the Assembly in Telangana with 11 out of the 14 Assembly constituencies in Ranga Reddy being won by first timers, while Nalgonda had 10 debutants among the 12 Assembly segments.
In Andhra, most debutants are from the Telugu Desam followed by the YSRC.
Among those going to the Lok Sabha, six are from the YSRC while four represent the Telugu Desam party. One BJP candidate will also be debuting in the Lok Sabha from Andhra.
