Chandrababu Naidu eyes Seemandhra capital near Vijayawada

Hyderabad: With Telugu Desam chief N. Chandrababu Naidu back in power, party sources indicate that the new capital city of the residuary state might be located near Vijayawada city.

Even before the counting of votes was taken up, Mr Naidu had discussed the issue with his close confidants and had apparently conveyed his plans to construct a new capital near Vijayawada city.

Sources said that Mr Naidu’s decision was based on the Telugu Desam’s strongholds in and around the area like Krishna, Guntur, West and East Godavari districts.
