After a slew of under-performers and disasters at the box office, Himesh Reshammiya’s The Xpose has managed to save face to an extent. The film’s opening was low key but it went on to garner some attention through the weekend, resulting in over Rs 10 crore* coming in. With the last few weeks seeing most releases struggling to touch even the Rs 3-crore mark in their opening weekends, a response like this is decent.

As the film wasn’t looking at getting some mind-blowing numbers, what came in was reasonably satisfactory. For Himesh Reshammiya, these are much better results than his previous solo releases. Since the film’s budget is low, it should eventually cross the safety mark.

For director Ananth Mahadevan, this is good news since his last Bollywood film that enjoyed decent collections was Emraan Hashmi-starrer Aksar (2006). That film had netted Rs 8 crore at BO, a number which has been surpassed in a weekend by The Xpose.
