Most babus prefer to work with Chandrababu Naidu
At least 176 IPS officers have submitted their “sealed cover options” to additional DG
Hyderabad: Following the election results, a majority of IAS and IPS officers have made their preferences known about which state they would like to stay in after June 2.
Seemandhra was not seen as a hot option for All India Service officers, but many now prefer it with the victory of Telugu Desam Party chief N Chandrababu Naidu. The trend is for more IAS officers to choose Seemandhra, whereas IPS officers prefer their state of domicile and North Indian IPS officers are more inclined to stay in Hyderabad.
At least 176 IPS officers have submitted their “sealed cover options” to additional DG (law and order) V S K Kaumudi.
A senior police official on condition of anonymity said, “Before the results came out, many AIS officials were afraid of how Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy would treat them. Many Seemandhra IPS officials preferred to stay in Hyderabad as there are several vacancies.
But after the results, the situation has changed. In the changed political scenario, many know how Mr Naidu functions and they now prefer Andhra.”
