Union Home Secretary briefs Modi about India’s security situation
Modi briefed about steps taken to check terror activities, infiltration from across the border
New Delhi: Union Home Secretary Anil Goswami met Prime Minister-elect Narendra Modi on Monday and briefed him about the security situation, including in Jammu and Kashmir, Northeast and Naxal-affected areas.
During the half-an-hour meeting, Goswami is understood to have briefed Modi about the steps being taken to check activities of terror outfits and infiltration from across the border and action plan being implemented to deal with the Maoist menace, sources said.
The meeting has been described as a familiarisation exercise by the Home Ministry for the Prime Minister-elect about country's internal security situation.
Goswami is also believed to have briefed Modi about the process of division of Andhra Pradesh, from which two states will be carved out on June 2.
