Australia plans nation-wide Wi-Fi Internet
Telecom giant Telstra is planning to make the whole of Australia a Wi-Fi zone
Mumbai: Telstra, Australia’s largest telecommunications and media company has planned a roadmap ahead to make the entire nation accessible to the internet.
As reported by TechRadar, Telstra has sent out invites which stated that the telecom will be announcing a public Wi-Fi network. The network will help boost usage and coverage across the country and the networking signals will piggyback on the existing national infrastructure of the telecom arm, which is already extensive.
Nothing further was revealed about the entire plans and costs. However, they have revealed that the Wi-Fi network will be available to Telstra customers without any distinction between mobile and broadband customers.
Telstra has been taking this initiative since Wi-Fi networks can be faster than 3G and 4G speeds and wireless internet can take the load off the present telecom networks.
