Senior officers asked KCR to allow to work without any interference
Bureaucrats are demanding to allow to function without interference
Hyderabad: With the Telangana Rashtra Samiti forming the government, veteran leaders of the Telangana struggle and various Telangana associations have asked the newly-formed government to allow bureaucrats to function without interference.
To ensure that Telangana does not become another Jharkhand, they have appealed for the inclusion of Muslims in the development process and want priority for employment and education issues.
They also urge that a conducive atmosphere for investors be created, and that there is transparency in government. They want Urdu to be given equal status, as Andhra Pradesh is a linguistic state and not Telangana.
“The newly formed government must also take special care of Hyderabad. The future of Hyderabad depends on the support of Muslims in development. Any attempt by the BJP to tinker with Hyderabad can be stopped only with strong support. Every party can rule effectively provided they do not interfere with bureaucrats and politicise them. It is very important to ensure that honest officers are not brought into this milieu of politics,” said captain L. Pandu Ranga Reddy, a Telangana activist.
He said there must be development of other cities as well. “All the pending projects in other cities must be dealt with soon and should start getting investments. Warangal, Adilabad, Chevella and more must soon have proper professional educational institutions and good health care facilities.”
Agrarian revival is another important issue. Capt. Reddy said that he has faith in Telangana’s civil society which is very vibrant and will hold the government to account.
“No other region has so many democratic groups committed to one cause. Because of the pressure, the government will perform,” he said.
