Hyderabad: Whether the Telugu Desam will have ministers in the Union Cabinet will be decided on Tuesday. TD president N. Chandrababu Naidu, along with a large contingent of senior MLAs and MPs, left for Delhi on Monday night to participate in the meeting of NDA allies convened by BJP president Rajnath Singh on Tuesday.

Before leaving for Delhi, Mr Naidu said a decision on whether the TD will join the government will be taken soon. “We are not for power. We are interested in development of the state and the nation. That was the reason we supported Modi. Anyway, we will decide it tomorrow.”

TD sources said that Mr Naidu will meet both Mr Singh and PM-in-waiting Narendra Modi on Tuesday. He will also hold a meeting of his party MPs and senior leaders to obtain their views before talking to the BJP leaders, sources said.

In a related development, Mr Singh has also invited Jana Sena leader Pawan Kalyan to attend the NDA meeting, to which the latter has agreed.
