Mayawati dissolves all BSP units
All party units at the Assembly, district and state levels were dissolved
Lucknow: BSP president Mayawati dissolved all party units at the Assembly, district and state levels with immediate effect following the party’s rout in the recent polls. However, voices of dissent have started growing louder in the BSP and this was clearly evident at the BSP office here on Tuesday.
For the first time in the history of the BSP, party workers raised slogans and posters against the leadership when some leaders were prevented from entering the party office where Ms Mayawati had convened a meeting to discuss election results.
Trouble began on Tuesday when Yogesh Dwiwedi, the BSP Lok Sabha candidate from Mathura, was prevented from entering the party office. He squatted on the road and his supporters raised anti-Mayawati slogans.
Later, on with the intervention of senior leaders, Mr Dwiwedi was allowed entry but some people continued to wave a banner that said, “Mayawati, listen to the voice of Dalits or else you will lose your base.”
