Hyderabad: The government on Wednesday reportedly allotted the buildings housing the APSP Battalion in Mangalagiri for the offices of the chief secretary, the director general of police and ministers of the Andhra Pradesh government that is expected to take office on June 2.

Though sources in Telugu Desam said the buildings had been allotted as offices, officials refused to confirm it.
About 2,500 personnel of the AP Special Police Battalion along with their families reside in the quarters at Mangalagiri.

Deccan Chronicle has already reported that two buildings, including the administrative block at Nagarjuna University, have been allotted for the AP Chief Minister’s camp office, reports said.

There is disquiet among staff in the university at the reports that the new state government offices would be located on the campus.
These reports come amid speculation that TD president N. Chandrababu Naidu prefers to locate the Seemandhra capital in the region between Vijayawada and Guntur.
