We bet you must have stumbled across many such schemes and advertisements promising you of quick and easy money while working from the comfort of your home. Well, the ads are promising, but are they legit?
Many netizens across the world have seen such ads with big names such as Google also being dragged into it. While it is too good to be true, some may really be genuine. We stumbled across a similar fake website, which promises exactly what we mentioned above. The catch is simple—you pay up a small registration fee using your credit card and from the first month onwards, you shall see your account growing by almost two lakhs a month.
Many people have fallen prey to such scams and have lost almost Rs 25,000 to Rs 50,000 to these hoax websites. They have claimed that the website asks you for the money, and when you key in your credit card details, there is an error during payment. You end up paying four to five times retrying and and run into additional risk of letting your credit card details into their database. Some have even reported that they have worked for almost two months and still haven’t received their salary.
These websites are milking common unsuspecting people who are unaware of such scams. When they lose out, there is no way they can get their money back. There is no proper law in India which can monitor and shutdown such websites. In the US, the FBI takes charge of this type of cybercrime.
Fraud websites are operated from outside the country with a local domain name to make the website seem genuine and from the same country. The fraud website also lures people with fake names revealing them to be moms earning from home and all sorts of similar stories with different names depending on the country it is put up in.
We urge you not to fall into such scams and if you feel they are faux enough, you could research about the website before giving in. If possible, report to the cybercrime office in your area or country.
