Hyderabad: In a bid to end the dilemma over ‘Dial 100’ facility after the bifurcation, the state police communication department has decided to have “logical bifurcation” of  calls depending on the point of origin of the call.

Additional director general Satyanarayana said, “There will be a logical bifurcation of calls in Dial 100 facility. The calls will be routed through the BSNL network and the information will be passed on by the staff to the police station concerned in Seemandhra or Telangana. The call centre is now managed by a private group and the DG command control centre will have officers from both AP and Telangana.”  He said that there will be no problem in receiving and transfer of information.

“People in both states can call 100 in an  emergency,” said Mr Satyanarayana.

The additional DG said, “Except for call centres and command and control centres, the rest of the communication department has been bifurcated. The equipment has  also been divided. There will be no problem on VIP calls as the channels of wireless networks will be separate.”
