New Delhi: The famous Gujarati Dhokla has made its way in the high tea menu that will be served after Narendra Modi’s swearing-in ceremony on the forecourt of the Rashtrapati Bhavan on Monday.

The menu has been largely kept vegetarian in keeping with the  preferences of the PM-elect. Bollywood superstars Amitabh Bacchan and Salman Khan have also been invited for the ceremony.

The last two occasions when swearing in of a PM was organised at the forecourt of the Rashtrapati Bhawan was in 1990, when Chandra Shekhar was sworn in 1990 and later in 1996 and 1998 when Mr Vajpapee took oath as the PM. Even then, there was a balance between the vegetarian and non-vegetarian snacks.

This time, the Rashtrapati Bhawan had reportedly decided to first go for only vegetarian snacks. But with a flurry of invitations being sent across to foreign dignitaries and heads of states, some non-vegetarian snacks like kebabs and fish tikkas have also been included in the menu.
