New Delhi: A Tamil students group called Delhi Tamil Youth Forum staged a protest in the streets of Delhi on Sunday to register their anger against the incoming Government's decision to extend invitation to Sri Lankan President, Mahinda Rajapaksa.

Holding banners and chanting against the Sri Lankan president, they were seen dissuading him for making a visit here as they described him as a war criminal.

The Lankan president's visit to India to attend prime minister-designate Narendra Modi's swearing in ceremony has stirred up an hornets' nest in Tamil Nadu with several political parties joining the chorus to stop his arrival.

Prime minister designate Narendra Modi in a first of kind has invited all the heads of State from SAARC nations to attend his swearing-in ceremony on May 26. Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa is also one among those who has been invited to attend the event.
