TDP leaders busy with Mahanadu preparations

Hyderabad: Telugu Vijayam in Gandipet is all set for Mahanadu, the annual gathering of the Telugu Desam which will begin on Tuesday. The two-day Mahanadu will be attended by around 30,000 delegates.

The TD is celebrating Mahanadu as a ruling party after a gap of 10 years coinciding with the birth anniversary of the late N.T. Rama Rao, the founder president of the TD. Elaborate arrangements have been made at the Telugu Vijayam in Gandipet for the Mahanadu.

This will be the last Mahanadu in the united state of Andhra Pradesh. From June 2, two states Andhra Pradesh and Telangana will come into existence.

TD chief N. Chandrababu Naidu and other senior leaders will pay tributes to party founder president at the NTR Ghat on Tuesday morning and from there Mr Naidu will proceed to Gandipet in a bike rally.  

The party workers painted areas in and around Telugu Vijayam with Yellow flags and banners. The TD is celebrating Mahanadu with full spirits as it is returning to power after 10 years.

TD leader Gali Muddu Krishnama Naidu said the party has sent invitations to 25,000 delegates, but after seeing the enthusiasm among the party cadres it seems around 40,000 may attend.

The Mahanadu will dedicate the TD’s victory in the recent Assembly elections in Seemandhra to party workers. The Mahanadu will also discuss several issues and pass resolutions on the welfare of farmers,  the development of the new Andhra Pradesh state and its capital and other issues.

The Mahanadu will discuss the changing of the TD into a national party from a regional party. After bifurcation the TD will operate in Andhra Pradesh as well as Telangana. To become a national party it has to contest in two more states. The Mahanadu will discuss the chances of TD in other states, and how to develop it in those states. The Mahanadu will be attended by Mr Naidu and other party leaders, MPs and MLAs.
