Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee plans celebations in big way
TPCC to make arrangement to celebrate Telangana formation day on June 2
Adilabad: The Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee is once again making serious efforts to remind the people of Telangana that it was the Congress which granted Telangana state, by celebrating Telangana formation day on a large scale on June 2 despite its debacle in the recent general elections. The TPCC has appointed senior Congress leaders as in-charges for 10 districts to make the event a grand success. The Congress leaders do not want to miss the June 2 opportunity to remind people about the party's contribution to the formation of Telangana state after realising that they failed to reap credit despite granting Telangana state before the elections unlike the TRS which claimed that the Congress granted Telangana only because of its 13 year-long fight for the cause.
The District Congress Committees (DCC) received instructions from the TPCC to make arrangement to celebrate Telangana formation day on June 2. The Telangana Congress leaders are of the opinion that people have voted against the Congress due to the anti-incumbency wave and hope that they will soon realise that it was the Congress that made a separate Telangana state possible. The Congress will celebrate formation day at mandal, Assembly constituency and district headquarters in all the 10 districts in Telangana state and will hoist Telangana Congress party flag to mark the occasion.
According to party sources, a preparatory meeting with members and leaders of Mahila Congress, NSUI, Youth Congress has been convened at the district headquarters on June1 to discuss the celebrations. District Congress Committee (DCC) president C.Ramchander Reddy said the Telangana flag will be hoisted along with the party flag at the party office in the Adilabad and added that they will celebrate Telangana formation day on June 2 to spread the message among the people that it was the Congress party which granted the separate Telangana state. It is learnt that senior Congress leader and former Peddapalli MP G.Vivek has been appointed district in-charge by TPCC president Ponnala Laxmaiah to make the Telangana formation day celebrations a grand success.
