Manchester: England will make a late decision over whether captain Alastair Cook is fit to play in the third one-day international against Sri Lanka.

Cook missed Sunday's second ODI with a groin injury as Sri Lanka bowled out England for 99 to cruise to a 157-run win and tie the five-match series at 1-1.

Cook took part in a light team training session on Tuesday at Old Trafford and batted for an hour in the nets.

The uncapped Alex Hales was brought in as cover for Cook but it was Michael Carberry who replaced him on Sunday.
