After brutal UP rape, Farhan Akthar pens poem demanding justice
The actor took to Twitter to show his support to the victims' family
Mumbai: As outrage spreads over the horrific gang rape of two Dalit sisters in the district, Bollywood actor Farhan Akthar has voiced his concern through a beautifully penned poem, that he shared on Twitter with his fans.
The two girls, who were cousins aged 14 and 15, went missing from their house on Tuesday night. Their bodies were found hanging from a tree in Katra village in Ushait area on Wednesday morning.
As soon as the news spread, villagers gathered at the site and claimed that police had refused to register an FIR on Tuesday night. They alleged that the girls were gang-raped before they were hanged by the attackers.
The postmortem report of the two girls confirmed that they were raped before murder.
Farhan has been vocal about social issues in the past as well and is an active member of Men Against Rape & Discrimination (M.A.R.D).
