Hyderabad: A Telangana Rashtra Samiti leader was murdered in Avancha village of Timmajipet mandal of Mahbubnagar district on Friday. The victim S. Parvathalu, 33, is the village party president. His body was found with multiple injuries in a lake on the village’s outskirts. An extramarital affair is suspected to have led to the murder.

Jadcherla (rural) CI Srinivas Reddy said locals who noticed his body alerted the police. The cops reached the spot and found the body with multiple injuries on the head and other parts of the body. “We reached the spot and examined it. The body had multiple injuries. We are yet to come to an opinion on the weapons used to attack the victim. A murder case has been registered,” Mr Srinivas said.

Meanwhile, Parvathalu’s family suspects that an extramarital affair could have led to the murder. “When we inquired with the family about suspects, it was learnt that he was having a sexual affair with another woman since 10 years. This could have led to the murder,” cops said. The body was shifted to hospital, and was handed over to the victim's family after autopsy.
