Telangana for Ramachandra Rao, Seemandhra for K Keshav Rao
The Union government is contemplating allowing them to swap their states
New Delhi: They doggedly fought for and against Telangana on the floor of the Rajya Sabha, but fate has it that they will have to represent the opposite region in the House of Elders, albeit temporarily.
With the lottery system throwing up surprises as expected, senior Congress leader K.V.P. Ramachandra Rao, who was a strong votary of United Andhra Pradesh, was allotted to Telangana, while K. Keshav Rao, who quit the Congress and joined the Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) for the inordinate delay in formation of separate state, was given to Seemandhra state.
However, there is some good news for these MPs as the Union government is contemplating allowing them to swap their states and planning to bring an executive order to enable them to spend their MPLADS in their native states irrespective of the state they would represent in the Rajya Sabha.
