The AIADMK supremo boycotted Modi's grand swearing-in ceremony on May 26
Chennai: Tamil Nadu chief minister J. Jayalalithaa will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his South Block office in New Delhi on June 3 amid reports that the two will discuss her AIADMK joining the NDA government at the Centre, besides her wishlist for the state.
An official release here said Friday that Jayalalithaa will present to the PM a memorandum containing “some very crucial issues relating to Tamil Nadu” that have been pending with the Centre. Her memorandum would also highlight issues requiring the Centre’s urgent attention “to safeguard the legitimate interests of the state and to propel the state on a faster growth path”, the release said.
The speculation that there could also be a political agenda at Tuesday’s meeting stemmed from their long friendship and mutual respect, notwithstanding their campaigning against each other in the recently concluded Lok Sabha polls.
