Telangana CM Designate KCR invites Narendra Modi for swearing-in
KCR invite PM for an exclusive function to inaugurate the new state of Telangana
Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister-designate K. Chandrasekhar Rao has decided to personally invite Prime Minister Narendra Modi for an exclusive function to inaugurate the new state of Telangana, about a fortnight after June 2.
Mr Rao had decided against inviting Mr Modi to the Formation Day festivities on Monday as there is no Telangana administration in place right now.
Mr Rao will take oath as the first Chief Minister of Telangana at 8.15 am on June 2 at Raj Bhavan, along with a 12- to 15-strong team, which will be expanded later.
He will be administered the oath of office by E.S.L. Narasimhan, who himself would be sworn-in as Telangana Governor at 6.15 am on Monday.
“KCR garu will maintain cordial relationship with the Centre and seek its support for the development of Telangana,” a close aide of Mr Rao said.
It is learnt that Mr Rao, when he calls on Mr Modi would submit a wish list, seeking support for the new state. More specifically, Mr Rao will seek help from the Centre to fulfil the TRS manifesto promises like waiver of farm loans up to Rs 1 lakh, two-bedroom houses for the weaker sections, funding for irrigation projects, and declaring the Pranahita Chevella irrigation project as a national project.
