Hyderabad: A woman was killed by her husband in broad daylight in Kacheguda on Sunday.

The victim Jamuna Rani, 43, an APSRTC bus conductor was living away from her husband due to disputes. Even after requests from her husband Venkateshwar Naik, 44, an ex-cop, she didn’t return. An angry Venkateshwar attacked her with a knife in full public view. She was rushed to hospital, but died.

Jamuna was married to Venkateshwar in 2000. It was a second marriage for both of them. Jamuna has two daughters from her first husband. Police said Venkateshwar, a dismissed constable, suspected Jamuna’s fidelity.

On Sunday Venkatesh-war approached her to sort out the issue at the Kacheguda bus stand.

“Venkateshwar questioned her regarding the extramarital affair and when she denied that, he stabbed her. Passersby who saw the attack alerted us,” said inspector Laxmi Narayana.
