PMO’s facebook page gets million ‘likes’
Page achieved the mark in 4 days
New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s popularity in social media continues to rise as the official Facebook page of the PMO has attracted over 1.1 million “likes” in just four days of its launch. On Twitter, the Prime Minister already commands over 1.4 million followers.
The Facebook page of the PMO hosts the photograph of the 63-year-old Prime Minister at work. Several pictures of the Prime Minister, including those of the prominent visitors greeting him, have been put up on the Facebook page. The PM has asked each minister to be on Twitter and Facebook to elicit suggestions and feedback.
Apart from the pictures, Mr Modi’s message on the occasion of “World No Tobacco day” is also present the Facebook page. His message has elicited thousands of “likes” along with eliciting hundreds of comments and suggestions.
Facebook users have offered a number of advices to the PM on control of tobacco use, with some suggesting increase of taxes on cigarettes, while others favoured outright ban in public places.
“The official Facebook page of the PMO has crossed a million likes in 4 days of being launched,” the PMO said on Twitter.
Mr Modi has been an avid user of the social media. During polls he used to invite inputs from locals where he used to address rallies.
