Sport stars at Telangana first CM, K Chandrasekhar Rao's swearing-in
Jwala Gutta, Gagan Narang and P. Gopichand were present during the occasion
Hyderabad: Following Narender Modi’s swearing-in, which turned out to be one of the biggest events in Indian democracy, came the swearing-in ceremony on Monday of K. Chandrasekhar Rao as the first Chief Minister of Telangana.
Interestingly, while the PM’s swearing-in ceremony had the glitz of the entertainment industry, the sports stars took centrestage in Telangana. Among those spotted were Jwala Gutta, Gagan Narang and P. Gopichand.
“It was definitely a moment I won’t forget in my life. Having attended the first Telangana CM’s swearing-in was just overwhelming,” said Jwala.
Invites for the ceremony had also gone to Saina Nehwal and Sania Mirza, but they are busy touring. With so many people from the sports arena being part of the swearing in, does it indicate a new dawn for Telangana sports? Jwala said, “I hope so. Hyderabad has always been a sports hub and has produced some of the best athletes for India. I’m sure the government will take forward the legacy.”
Meanwhile, KCR’s daughter K. Kavitha struck a chord with the guests at the ceremony. When guests wished her “all the best for your endeavours”, she replied “You mean OUR endeavours”.
