Naidu ready to attend KCR's swearing in only if he is personally invited by KCR
Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister-in-waiting N. Chandrababu Naidu has not yet decided on attending the swearing-in ceremony of Telangana CM-designate K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Monday at Raj Bhavan.
Mr Rao and Mr Naidu likely to have a chance meeting on Monday morning at the Raj Bhavan at the swearing-in ceremony of E.S.L Narasimhan as the governor of Telangana, which will be held before the swearing-in ceremony of Mr Rao as the first chief minister of Telangana.
According to sources in the Telugu Desam, Mr Naidu is ready to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Telangana’s first chief minister, if Mr Rao invites him personally, to the swearing-in ceremony. Till Sunday night, Telugu Desam leaders claim that Mr Naidu was not invited personally by the founder of the Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS).
Governor Narasimhan said on Saturday that the government has extended the invitation to Mr Naidu to attend the swearing-in ceremony of the Telangana Cabinet.
Sources in the Telugu Desam confirmed that Mr Naidu has received the invitation from the government, but he hasn’t made up his mind.
They, however, claim that Mr Naidu will attend the swearing-in of Narasimhan as the governor of Telangana. Mr Narasimhan will continue as the governor of Andhra Pradesh also.
Meanwhile, Telangana TDP leaders Errabelli Dayakar Rao and M. Narasimhulu congratulated the Telangana people as the state of Telangana became a reality on June 2. They said it would have been nice if the TRS chief had invited them personally for his swearing-in ceremony.
