Hyderabad: Mild tension prevailed on the Osmania University campus when police foiled the attempts of protestors to swarm the Raj Bhavan on Monday morning. Scores of students started a rally against Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao alleging  that he had failed to keep his promise of appointing a ‘Dalit’ as the first CM of the new state.

As Mr Rao was to take oath at the Governor’s residence, the students planned to protest at the venue. Students from Madiga Student Federation and others organisations started a rally wearing black badges and holding black flags as a mark of protest. They raised slogans and marched towards the NCC Gate on the campus to make their way to Raj Bhavan.

However, police rushed to the spot and prevented them from going out. The cops placed barricades and closed the gate.

The student protestors picked up an argument with the police. When the cops refused to let them out claiming that they had no permission, the protestors stood there and protested.
