Kozhikode: A number of people meet with road accidents daily and many die without proper medical attention on time, especially at night.

A group of techies from Immneos Technologies, a start-up company located at Technolodge, Kakkoor, Piravom, has come up with a unique system to help such victims, which will alert the police in case of accidents, using SMS facility attached to the vehicle.

The product named as Vehicle Crash Emergency Notification System (VCENS) is a vehicle-tracking and immediate accident notification system. When the vehicle meets with an accident, the VCENS notifies the relatives or friends or any helpline numbers with SMS alert. The SMS will have the details such as location of accident, time and speed of the vehicle.

“The system consists of six micro-sensors fixed at six different parts of the vehicle. The sensors are connected to GSM and GPRS devices which will find the location and send the SMS to the pre-set number,” explains N. Hareesh, CEO of Immneos Technologies.

“Currently, the system works where mobile network is available. In the next stage we will solve  this issue by upgrading. We are also in talks with companies having vehicle-tracking facility to integrate this system with theirs,” he added.

The company is also planning an extension with the government or any similar body that can make available a common emergency accident recovery helpline number and handle the messages. Discussions are going on with some automobile companies on adding this technology in their new models.

Jinu John, Akahil Mohan, Sumith Thampi, Aby Thampi and K.R. Anish are the other techies involved in the project.
