Hyderabad: Though Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and his 11 ministers took oath of office on Monday, there will be no “official business” for the state government in Telangana Secretariat for now.

The Secretariat, which has been observing “zero week” since May 26 with no government administration to complete bifurcation-related works, will continue to do so even after the CM and his team assumed office.

The reason being that there are no Acts for the Telangana state at present and it needs to “adopt” the Andhra Pradesh State Acts to run the administration. Whatever Acts exist now were made for Andhra Pradesh and they became null and void for Telangana following division of the state.
