Telangana administration to take time to adopt AP acts
The documentation work would take more than a week
Hyderabad: Official sources said it would take more than a week for the new state of Telangana to adopt AP Acts even if the entire process is expedited.
The signing of files and issuing of GOs with regard to the implementation of waiver of farm loans, ex gratia and jobs to families of Telangana martyrs will take some more time.
With this, the state government has planned a separate “Telangana government inauguration day” to carry out “official business” after all Acts and official machinery are put in place for the Telangana state.
Mr Rao has decided to invite President Pranab Mukherjee and Prime Minister Narendra Modi to inaugurate the function.
“There is no infrastructure or mechanism in place at the Telangana Secretariat to run the administration. The bifurcation-related works are yet to be completed. Only after that, we will be in a position to appoint officials to the departments. Unless officials take charge, it’s not possible to draft files, sign them and issue GOs,” Mr Rama Rao said.
It would take more than a week to put everything in place. Separate Telangana Acts have to be made in place of AP Acts,” said Mr K.T. Rama Rao, who was sworn-in as minister in Mr Rao’s Cabinet on Monday.
He added that the government was thus planning a “Telangana Government Inauguration Day” before June 15.
“KCR will visit Delhi soon and invite the President and the Prime Minister to inaugurate the government. The government will be in a position to discharge its duties on full scale only after that,” he added.
With this, the much-touted “first signature” of Mr Rao, waiving off farm loans, is likely to be delayed.
