Hyderabad: The Telangana Prisoners’ Association at the Cherlapalli Central Jail, comprising life prisoners, has written a letter to Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao seeking mercy.

Many of them said that they were willing to undergo correctional measures and serve for the betterment of Telangana.

They requested Mr Rao to set them free as they have been away from their families for many years now.

They said that due to complicated procedures and the administrative functioning, many have not been able to get their mercy plea forwarded and hence are still serving time, some of them for more than a decade or two. They requested the CM to help them reunite with their family.
