Hyderabad: Senior IPS officer Dr Soumya Mishra took charge as special secretary of the Home department of Telangana, on Wednesday. She is a 1994 batch IPS officer and has held several senior positions. Dr Mishra began her career as ASP in Vijayawada and SP of Warangal. She was IGP (law and order) and IG of North Coastal region. On Wednesday, Telangana DGP Anurag Sharma held a review meeting of IPS officers provisionally allotted to the Telangana cadre.
Mr Sharma asked the officers to work to maintain the image of Hyderabad city and directed officials to work on staff reorganisation, pinpoint vacancies and sketch out a road map. He directed the city police officers to maintain the correct protocol as two Chief Ministers will be working from Hyderabad. Security was also a concern of home minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy. Mr Reddy said “The security of the city is our top priority. We are going to implement the safe city project.”
