Gajwel to be Telangana model
Hanumantha Rao to oversee development works
Gajwel: Chief Minister of Telangana state, K. Chandrasekhar Rao promised to make his Gajwel constituency in Medak district, located about 55 km from Hyderabad, a model constituency in the state with development in all spheres.
“I am ever grateful to the people of Gajwel. I promised unprecedented development if elected. I will fulfil your dreams 100 per cent.” he remarked while addressing a public meeting in Gajwel on Wednesday.
He promptly announced Hanumantha Rao as the head of Gajwel Development Authority to oversee development in the constituency.
He held a review meeting with Medak district collector Smitha Sabharwal and other officials to draw a blueprint of the plans.
Mr Rao also said a special personal assistant would be stationed at his residence to attend to the needs of the people of his constituency round the clock.
“Gajwel can be developed into a horticulture hub as it is close to Hyderabad and has good soil. You will get drinking water at your doorstep, green-house cultivation and a seed development unit. I will also bring Godavari waters and ensure irrigation to two to three lakh acres in the next three years,” he promised adding a ring road, a four-lane road from Pragnapur to Gajwel, butterfly lights and ‘Harita haram’ (greenery) to the list.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister-designate N. Chandrababu Naidu’s Kuppam, former chief minister Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy’s Pulivendla, Kiran Kumar Reddy’s Pileru, constituencies from where they had won, blossomed during their tenure with crores of rupees spent for development. Gajwel is going the same way, going by the promises.
Mr Rao won from Gajwel by a margin of 19,218 votes defeating Telugu Desam nominee V. Pratap Reddy.
Gajwel municipality has a population of about 50,000 and the main vocation, remains agriculture though there are several educational institutions, some industries, and resorts with Rajiv Rahadari highway being a big advantage.
“Thanks to KCR, there is a big boom in the land value ever since he took up farming on a 50 acre land in Eravalli village. The land price rose from Rs 2 lakh per acre to Rs 15 lakh per acre, after he became the CM” said Shravan Reddy, a TRS activist.
