Sujana Chowdary is Telugu Desam leader in Lok Sabha

Mr Chowdary is TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu’s confidants

Hyderabad: Industrialist turned politician Yelamanchili Satyanarayana Chowdary (Sujana Chowdary) has been appointed Parliamentary leader of the Telugu Desam by the TD president N. Chandrababu Naidu. The TD has a total strength of 22 MPs (16 Lok Sabha and six Rajya Sabha) in Parliament who authorised the party president on Tuesday to nominate the office-bearers. Nimmala Kishtappa has been appointed secretary and Thota Sitaraman Laxmi, treasurer of the Parliamentary Party.

Mr Chowdary is one of Mr Naidu’s five confidants. The others are MPs C.M. Ramesh,  Garikapati Rammohan Rao, former MP Kambhampati Rammohan Rao and educationalist K. Narayana
of Narayana Institutions.

Mr Naidu also named Thota Narasimham, who was elected from Kakinada, as party leader in the Lok Sabha, Dr N. Siva Prasad as deputy leader and Konakalla Narayana Rao as party whip. In the Rajya Sabha, T. Devender Gowd will be the leader of the party, C.M. Ramesh will be the deputy leader and Ms Gundu Sudha Rani will be the party whip.

Apart from this, the first time MPs Galla Jayadev, Kinjarapu Ramamohan Naidu and Malla Reddy will be the party’s national spokespersons.
