Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has been busy holding meetings ever since he assumed office without skipping even a day. Even when he went to Gajwel on June 4, he came to the office in the morning and stayed till noon. He also attended office on Friday for two hours in the morning before leaving for New Delhi. However, with no one to assist Mr. Rao in the CMO, files are piling up with each passing day.

None of the CMO officials appointed by Mr Rao has taken  charge so far. Only Medak collector Smitha Sabharwal, who was transferred on Thursday, has taken  charge as additional secretary on Friday  becoming the first woman IAS officer in the state to work in the CMO.  The other IAS officers appointed in the CMO, Narsing Rao, Rajashekar Reddy and Gopal Reddy, are yet to be relieved by the Centre.

The CMO is already full of pending files due to slow clearance during N. Kiran Kumar Reddy’s tenure as he was busy tackling bifurcation issues, followed by Governor’s rule with Mr Reddy’s exit in February and election code of conduct coming into force in March. Over 800 files were pending with CM’s office when Mr Kiran Kumar Reddy resigned on February 19 this year.

Though Mr Rao took charge as CM on June 2, he has no help in sorting out  files for his perusal. Likewise, AP Chief Minister-in-waiting N. Chandrababu Naidu has a huge number of files awaiting him.
