Monsoon would reach Telangana two days after it reaches Andhra Pradesh

Visakhapatnam: The Southwest monsoon set in over Kerala on Friday and the India Meteorological Department announced that the weather conditions were favourable for its expansion into various parts of the country.

Officials at the Cyclone Warning Centre, Visakhapatnam, said it would take at least a week for the monsoon to enter AP. It would reach Telangana two days after it reaches AP. The monsoon has advanced over most parts of south Arabian Sea and Kerala, parts of the Maldives, Cape Comorin areas, some parts of Tamil Nadu and Bay of Bengal. Rainfall over Kerala has been fairly widespread in the last 48 hours.

Conditions are positive for advancement of the monsoon in the remaining parts of Kerala, south Karnataka, TN, and west central Bay of Bengal over the next two-three days. Met department said the monsoon would move to some parts of northeastern states in 48 hours.
