GHMC for more safety in Hyderabad Metro Rail area

Barricading to be strengthened and dug up roads will be closely watched

Hyderabad: The GHMC will strengthen barricading and take up safety measures on narrow roads where Hyderabad Metro Rail works are in progress.

“In view of the rainy season, barricading must be strengthened and there will be a close watch on ditches where the roads have been dug up,” GHMC commissioner Somesh Kumar said. He directed HMR officials to remove barricading where works have been completed and re-carpet roads. Following a joint inspection of roads along the Metro corridor, the following works will be taken up on priority basis: Pier foundation work in Nirankari Bhavan at Lakdikapul, Shifting LT poles opposite Venkateshwara Hotel, Repair  leakage of water supply opposite petrol bunk beside Asoka Hotel.

Collapsed manhole at Venkateshwara Motors to be attended to and HMR to re-carpet worn-out surface opposite Police Control Room among others.
