President's parliament speech rises Nifty to new high
Nifty surged higher and closed at a new high of 7654.60, gaining 71.20 points

Mumbai: A slew of reform measures aimed at reviving growth and investment spelled out by President Pranab Mukherjee in his speech to the joint session of Parliament powered equity markets to an all time high on Monday.
After opening the day on a positive note, the Sensex hit a lifetime high of 25,644.77 points in intra-day trade before ending the session at a new closing high of 25,580.21, up 183.75 points or 0.72 per cent from its previous session. Similarly, the Nifty surged higher and closed at a new high of 7654.60, gaining 71.20 points or 0.94 per cent. The rally in the market was led by power, capital goods and real estate stocks.
