Speeding train kills teenager in Hyderabad

The boy was playing by the railway tracks when the mishap took place

Hyderabad:  A teenager died after he was hit by a speeding train while playing cricket on the railway tracks between Hafeezpet and Chandanagar on Sunday.

Nampally Railway police said the victim D. Saikumar, 16, a Class IX student, was the son of Srinivas Rao, a resident of Vyshalinagar in Miyapur. On Sunday, he and his friends went to play on the railway tracks.

While they were playing, Saikumar was hit by the train. He sustained serious injuries and died on the spot.

A case was registered by the police. The body was shifted to the Osmania General Hospital and was handed over to the family after postmortem examination on Monday.
