Hyderabad: Parents of the students who were washed away in the Himachal Pradesh mishap are desperately hoping to hear some news about their wards.

“We don’t expect our children to return alive but we want help in at least retrieving their bodies. We request the state government to step up the rescue operations,” beg the parents.

P. Srinivas and Ramadevi, residents of Balaji Swarnapuri Colony in Motinagar said, “We request that the number of rescue operations be increased.” Another missing student Sriharsha’s mother collapsed on hearing that her son had been washed away. His father K.R.K.V. Prasad of Batukammakunta has since reached the accident spot.

“All we want is our children’s bodies. We suggested that the NDRF and the army use hi-tech thermal imaging equipment. We appeal to the Centre and the state government to expedite the process. If so many rescue teams have been deployed, why is it taking three days to find the bodies?” ask the parents.
